FLEET WORLD COMMENDS ECOTRAK
EcoTrak, the fuel and vehicle management system developed by CMS SupaTrak, was commended at the recent Fleet World Honours award ceremony held in London for its contribution to prioritise environmental and safety issues.
Developed to recognise businesses that stand out from the crowd, the Awards aim to reward excellence and in the technology category the judges commended EcoTrak on the way it helps companies monitor and manage fuel usage and reduce carbon emissions.
As rising fuel prices increase the pressure on companies to curtail consumption, EcoTrak provides them with a great deal of information they can use to do this. In addition to basic vehicle tracking, it gives fleet operators an ability to measure actual fuel usage and carbon emissions on every journey, plus figures on a range of critical vehicle management factors, such as mpg, engine load and driving style.
Using this information to revise routes and schedules, retrain drivers and plan servicing, it is possible to significantly reduce both fuel and vehicle running costs. For example, tests using EcoTrak have shown that 7% of fuel costs can be saved simply by improving driver behaviour.
"We are delighted that EcoTrak's contribution to reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions has been recognised by Fleet World Honours, which is highly respected within the transport industry," said Jason Airey, Managing Director at CMS SupaTrak.
"EcoTrak addresses an area of prime concern for fleet managers at the moment, and provides them with a new, cost effective way to get to grips with the problem of higher vehicle running costs.
"I know that those customers already using the system are very pleased with the new level of control it gives them to monitor and manage their fleets more efficiently. Now that the EcoTrak profile has been raised by Fleet World Honours, I hope many more companies will be tempted to give it a try," he added.
